So I have 5GBs of pictures(Most all taken by me), 4GBs of Music(Which I can put on my 8gb MP3 player but rather not), and 2GBs of video(Non-porn video).

I'll probably do the new Hard Drive too while I'm starting over.

Also is there better stuff out there than Internet Exploerer and Windows? Since I've come to find out those are the most targeted programs since everyone uses them.
Firefox is my browser choice. It seems to run alot better/smoother and you can upgrade it and add different 'plug-ins' to suit your needs. You can download it here.

As for a new OS I would say Linux. I have no experience with it but I hear if you want to have a top notch OS Linux is the way to go.

Hope that helps and good luck

Im not sure if its a virus but its something. Im trying to figure out what it may be. My comp runs fine all except that little trojan pop-up box. It says I have 7 bad files tho. I have figured out that I was right about the box prompting me to "fix" the problem by downloading what it said was an adware blocker. It turned out to be just what I thought it was: a trojan inside a trojan that downloads all sorts of malware.

Nah when I used to get on my comp a pop-up would come up telling me I was infected with a trojan and I must download this file to fix it. If I downloaded the file it would have infected my comp even more. Its one of those viruses that are targeted towards the people that think if the comp says do it you have to do it. SpyHunter fixed it tho.

ahh ok... so your good now though? sometimes if your antivirus won't remove a threat... google the name of the virus... and you'll usually find steps to remove it... everytime that I've had to do this(once on my computer and countless times on friends)... it's involved editing the registry... so at that point... it's format time. fuck fucking around in the registry... I don't feel comfortable with that shit

Luckily there were no registries infected (that was one of the potentially infected categories) I am going to do a complete recovery once I can get a backup disc tho so it should be back to normal by then anyways. Any idea if I can get a backup disc for free? Or at least less than the $20 that commonboys had to pay.

I'm not sure what they mean my "registries infected" but I've had NEW registry entries and old entries that were altered by viruses... never were they fixed by symantec
