Stupid was "buy a new battery", ect...

I'm glad you got it figured out. As with many things... its a matter of tracing the problem. You have to start from one end or the other and work your way thru the system.

Yeah- I want to know where you got that done? Hourly rate where I bought my bike is $80!

Glad you got it fixed. Did they say where the short was? Or what they did to fix it? Probably just wrapped tape around it. They may have covered it in heat shrink or spliced a new length of wire in though.

1. Dnyce, I was too pissed to go to dinner that night

2. Gasman, I know my new Muiltimeter is going to come in handy in the future.
3. the shop I took it to is a family owned cycle shop, not a dealer. They always have alot of bikes to work on, usually older ones that people wont take to the dealer cause they charge too much... I know the counter/service manager pretty well, when I took it in yesterday at 3pm, I asked him if someone could take a look at it asap. He said he would try to squeeze me in, 2 hours later me calls to say its fixed...

4. I think they charge $70 per hr labor, which is way cheaper then the closest dealer who charges $ 90 per hr..

5. I think I answered everyones questions, thanks for the help everybody. the next time you see Ebbs, he will buy you all a beer, on my behalf

6. now on to my charity ride on saturday
