The big thing here is alcohol. Everybody rides these things smashed, and every year, people die.
Same around here. Probably the main reason one bonehead got a pile of stainless plates and hardware in his leg. He hit a tree and the sled rolled over and smashed his leg.

It was a 30 minute lunch time ride to relax.

And the trails were crap (that one wasn't bad because nobody had really ridden on it).

Riding fast was not particularly easy on the more well traveled trails.

Here's a shot with the windmills in the background:

My brother-in-law and I went out last night and rode about 40 miles - I fared much better than he did in that department (my sled took the bumps better). I ended up standing for most of the ride anyhow because of how many moguls were worn into the trails by the wannabe racers.

When it costs almost 100 bucks to register one of these beasts to be able to ride on said trails (or anywhere off your own property), damn skippy I'll whine about it!

that's cuz you have other places to ride beside the trails, don't you?

And it's an extra 80 bucks to ride in areas like Old Forge above and beyond the registration fee.

NY is all about the hidden fees
