Neither one has the option of stopping the regens without turning off the engine.
From what I've heard, the average is about 4 gal of urea per 5k miles or so. Of course, this depends on driving style and how much pulling/hauling they are doing.

OK. A few weeks ago I did some upgrades and deletions. Let me tell you how much I love my mechanic. I'm taking it to the track on Friday to *train* the transmission. Should be interesting...

After filling the tank, my math put it at 23.8. Not bad for a beast. I'm THRILLED.

What kind of driving?

Around town?
Highway?
Any towing or hauling?

Were you "babying" it to get those numbers?

Around town, some freeway, no towing (yet).

I haven't babied it, frankly I'm surprised y'all can't hear my maniacal laughter as I 'git it. Holy crap but it pulls some torque.

Damn thats some good mileage, but a very quick search of the internet says that there seems to be a huge variety in the mpg that folks seem to get, anywhere from a low of 6 to a high of the mid 20s. Yeh it looks to be on the better side of normal, but that still better than my uninformed opinion would have expected.

The majority of what we took off was put on for California emissions rulings. I mean, the damn filter in the exhaust that was sprayed with fuel to clean it... sounds like a ridiculous idea, doesn't it? Yay!! Let's take a vehicle that already doesn't make awesome fuel mileage and let's dump some randomly [usually when you NEED it].

I have the opportunity to put it on a dyno within the next month... I've never dyno'd a truck before.

Shit, with the roof racks on, my Jetta gets that even if I'm babying it. Might be time to change vehicles.
