On my list I had the Presa Canario...I decided to pass but has anyone ever checked these dogs out ? I'm not talking about dogfighting...I've raised Pitbulls but just the liability of owning one...makes the Rottweiler seem mild.

"many owners of pit bulls like to have a stun gun on hand". what retard wrote that? I've had a couple pits and never felt the need for a stun gun. looks like a very informative site...if all you want is bad information. I see my boxer made the list. |

I've owned several Pitbulls and never had a stun gun sitting around for them. I only had a problem with one of them...killed a neighbor's Eskimo Spitz that dug under my fence and came in my yard...he weighed 28 and my Pit weighed 65. Luckily for me a little old lady that lived on the other side of me saw it all happen. I really hated it for the Spitz...I love dogs but I had tried to talk to the owner before about his Spitz digging along the fence line and his comeback was...Dominic (his Spitz) could handle himself...he held his own with a Doberman a while back. I've owned several of the dogs on that list thru the years. No one has ever been bitten by one of my dogs...growled at yes...scared...yes...but bitten...nope. I do say though that I consider myself a very responsible and conscience owner and the problem is...a lot of gangsta...badazz...and tough guy wannabe's are attracted to these type dogs and then don't raise/train and control them properly. That and then the ones like say a woman sees a Rottweiller as a puppy "oh he's sooooo cute...looks like a little teddy bear"...then when it grows up...guess what (?) it isn't a fvcking teddy bear and now you've let him out and he's bitten someone !! |
