5.56mm version. There were no 9mm versions imported as semiauto.

Oh and you must forgive my ignorance of assault weapons. My experience so far has only been with hunting rifles/shotguns and hand guns. But I am gaining interest in them now. Last edited by Rider; 12-16-2008 at 02:34 PM.. |

The 9mm version of the AUG was more or less a conversion kit that Steyr introduced because of the modular design of the gun that makes it really easy to convert. Slap in new barrel, new bolt, magazine adaptor and 9mm magazine. I don't even know if anybody actually bought the 9mm version of the Steyr AUG.

On my Aks I have a couple different reflex sights On My VEPR I have Kopra or some times called a Kobra. great reflex sight tough as a box of nails (the one I ahve has a chip in the out case from when a goober buddy of mine slammed a taligait on it and it works great. Again battery dies useless. On my Ak74 I am using an interesting sight PKSV that illustrates the the basic difference between western bloc and eastern block thinking (Remember dusing the space race we spent millions developing a pen that would write in space the russians sent a pencil) The PKSV is essentialy a non-magnified scope with a recticle that is a 100 minute of angle circle and a 1 minute of angle dot in the middle. You can adjust illumination of the center dot but should the battery die you still have the the non illuminated sight. More parallex than the other two but works EVERY time. For my older eyes I love these types of sights. |

What I want is the capacity, the accuracy, and the lower cost to operate (9mm vs. .40, .45, etc). A full frame pistol specifically for the shooting range.
