Riding partners

after going on a couple group rides where people i didn't know showed up and seeing how little fucking skill most average riders have, i generally only ride with my track buddies now. That is, before I stopped having a street bike.

I ride with a great group of people. All various skill levels, but we know eachothers riding styles very well, and always have great rides. We ride a lot too.

As for the chatterboxes, we gave them a try before, but ended up getting rid of them. It kills the joy of riding. It kills the peace. It fucks up your concentration too. You will always get a blabber, someone who just cant STFU, and you'll be just diving in to the apex of a turn and "crjhsdbfsdh BLA BLAH DID YOU SEE THAT CRAZY TREE crsjhfjhcdtrcd" or whatever they feel like blabbing about, and it totally blows all your concentration. Most groups I know who shell out fot them end up just going back to using hand signals.

I'd have to rock the Chatterbox ONLY with people who I knew and trusted not to be a douche with it... Talk ONLY when necessary, no useless babble.

Amen to that. I hear one of our own here who might happen to have more chrome than sport is a huge offender of the chatty cathy rule

Push to talk. Voice activated would get my best rendition of "Radar Love" which doesn't even sound good in the shower...

Definitely, full volume screamin inside the helmet. I can't sing Lollipop in there anymore, because I catch myself bouncing the front up evertyime Iget to "pop"

so its like "Lolly*vroom*pop lolli*vroom*pop oooh lolli lolli *vroom*pop"

I dunno, if you have a decent gap between riders it could come in handy for acknowledging hazards and/or changes to the ride plan... I can think of a few instances in which it would have been VERY handy, even assisting with safety... and a number of other instances in which it would have been just fun to communicate what's going on with more effeciency than hand signals.

If you would of been on the ride to indy, you would of seen how nice it would of been to have something of that nature to use. It's not really needed for local rides, but long rides where you are spending all day on the bike, it could come in real handy.
