exhaust coating
i just got done mounting my exhaust, and making a new brake pedal/arm to work with it. now i wana do the ceramic coat. who has done it recently?
check it out-i like what this company offers, their chromex coat click any1 dealt with them before? i sent them some pics of what i had two days ago, they havent gotten back to me with a quote yet. after another two days or so, screw it. i dont wana get dicked around on my parts taking forever. i know about jet hot, hp, and a few others, but dont know any1 whos done it recently. my pipe is 10pieces-4 flanges, 4 head pipes, collector, and megaphone, in case ne1 is wondering. i DO NOT wana chrome it, but would prefer the chrome like (gotta be ceramic, not powder) coating as opposed to the usual black or boring ass grey color. any suggestions?

Don't do anything ceramic besides an exhaust. The stuff sucks, and comes off WAY WAY too easily.

you're the 1st to say ceramic sucks tho, whys that? what company did you use? jet hot just told me 220 plus shipping for the sterling look on the inside and outside, basically looks like highly polished aluminum. still waiting for 3 other companies to reply

It sucks cause its so freakin thin!! You can wear it off with about anything... the thinness is what makes it awesome for temps... but it sucks for durability.

If you're just ceramic coating it for looks mostly, why not just powdercoat it with high temp shit? Or cheaper yet (if you go black), just grab a couple cans of high temp grill paint and have at it.
I know a lot of people blast on header wrap and really I've never liked the way it looks, but once I did it on my Buell, I think it turned out pretty sick. |

na, ceramic was for the cooling properties, the 1-2hp you get from it, and the fact that it wont burn the shit outta me. i was actually thinkin function over form this time
imo header wrap wont look good on this bike. for all you photoshop peeps, heres a pic close to the color the bike is now, can u make the pipe black? -then every1 can chime in on what color it should be, black or chrome-ish. fyi: the forks will probably be black, gold calipers, fender painted to match bike color. i say probably because im just tossin ideas around in my head right now

I think the all black on the header section would look killer... then leave the megaphone chrome!
But yeah... the ceramic rubs off EASY!! Too easy! |
