The Honda looks like it accidentally sniffed a skunk, while rear-ending a truck. In fact all the Jap liter bikes are ugly this year. The R1 has bat eyes, a tail that's too short, and out-of-style undertail exhaust. The Gixxer has flat-out UGLY exhaust, and having two cans is just wasted mass. The Kawi has those ghey signal-mirrors, and that lame stripe between the headlights that makes it look like some sort of rooster or insect.
The early/mid 90's were the best years for Jap bike styling -- it's all gown downhill since then. Last edited by Homeslice; 06-10-2009 at 11:00 PM.. |

i would have liked to seen them track test them at another track too, where top speed one have been a factor, would have really let the zuki and kawi shine
they said they were confident the suzuki(if not limited to 186) would easily pull redline in top gear..mid to high 190's ..stock! the honda had the best 1/4 time, but from reading it is also lower geared than the other 1000's...so either way, they all seem to be pretty awesome machines...well cept the duc, i dont count it, cause its $5,000 more and has 200 more cc's but i'm kinda let down by the new R1, little heavy and underpowered compared to the others, it really didnt do well at all, just read about it in the new SportRider and they seemed quite surprised by the higher weight and LOWER HP than last years model

But the July 2009 issue of Motorcyclist picked the R1, regardless of the weight and lower HP.
