Probably only of interest to Canadian Members...
... but what the hell.
Today, at Shannonville Motorsports Park, comedian, talk show host, and fake news anchor Rick Mercer filmed a segment for his show, "The Mercer Report", while being a sidecar 'monkey' during the last regional racing round of the season. They took him around the track at probably half the speed at which they usually race, and his eyes were as wide as saucers. I'll try to remember to post a couple of pics when I'm done sorting the 1000+ I took, over the course of the weekend. *EDIT* For those of you who don't know who Rick Mercer is, he's kind of our Jon Stewart.

Sorry, no. I had no idea that he would even be there until a little after 9:00am today after which time I was already in the middle of the track, and couldn't cross back to get any shots of him off the sidecar. I did get a couple later on though.

That'd be interesting to see.
I find him too annoying to watch (I think it's his voice) but he does some interesting stuff. Would love to see some other pics too. I know Timmy was there this weekend. |

Unfortunately I screwed up and thought that I copied all my shots to my external drive, last night, but actually copied them somewhere else(?!). I was going to start editing them this morning. No such luck. I'll have to do it when I get home tonight.
I've been shooting there for years now and some guy who just started shooting last round got a shot of himself with Mercer. Life just ain't fair.
