Bodywork
Okay so who can tell me about bodywork?
I have an 06 ZX6 (636). How do I know what years will fit it? I'm on the WERA forums and found some ZX6 bodywork for $200. Is that reasonable? What do I need to know here? (I know NOTHING! ) |

Ninja 636's are different between gen 1 and gen 2, gen 1 being 03/04, and gen 2 being 05/06. I dont think any other model's bodywork will fit, except 03/04 and 05/06 ZX6RR bodywork. same basic bike, just different engines.

You should be able to make it fit, but it really comes down to how much you would have to modify it. Its a great price, but unless you can see how much work it will take to make it fit, either by creating brackets, trimming the fairing or widening/lengthening it.
All said, unless it fits it will probably be alot of work to get it to fit, although you never know. Might be a good idea to check a zx6/636 specific forum for better info

If you have an '06, then only the bodywork from an '05 or an '06 will fit, no other years or models.

Thats basically what I was trying to say. the 03/04 ZX6RR bodywork should bolt right up to the 636 of 03/04, same for the 05/06 6RR and 05/06 636. probably shoulda clarified that a little huh?

I got it, but I also have an '04 636 in the garage, so I'm kinda familiar with them.

Yeah, the 03/04 models are a touch different. also my personal favorite of the 636 models.
