That would work perfectly! It is totally biodegradable, widely available, inexpensive, and easy to apply!

Not a chance they'll be smart enough to use it. They'll probably use something toxic made by Monsanto or Dupont instead.

Of course not. No huge corporation stands to make any millions, which means the idea is totally beyond consideration. Even worse, some farmers might make a fucking profit, and we all know they need to stay dependent on those subsidies.

Default tankers?

What about parking like 5 to 10 tankers around the plume and have them start sucking "hehe hehe". and then turn on the filters and dump off the filtered water? yeah sure they will fill up quick but quite possibly be a lot less oil rolling across the water to the LA marshes and beaches. I am no oil engineer but there has to be something that could have been put in place to mitigate this disaster.
