Default Question for the gunners in the house

I picked up a couple of old guns at a yard sale today. I think I did OK, but not being a big time gun guy I just wondered what you think.

I picked up a Winchester Model 100 auto (.308) in pretty good condition and a Springfield (Savage) 511A 12ga double barrel in good condition and a repop flint lock .50 pistol with a little surface rust. I paid $240. for all.

Did I get beat up?

The only way you could have done better would have been to steal them

Thanks. I goggled a couple of sites but didn't find the dbl barrel. I found 2 Model 100's. one was $695. and the other was $890. Both seemed to be priced stupid high, but I figured for a $100 I did good.

Condition has a lot to do with prices. But you did very well in your purchases ( the flintlock isn't worth much )

Ooooh, a Model 100.

Let me know if you decide not to hold onto that.
My grandfather has a Model 100 Carbine in .243 that I loved as a kid.
The .308 was the longer version, but I've no reason to believe it'd be any less of a great shooter.
You did great on the price, btw.

I believe this .308 is a carbine. It has a 22in barrel length.

Ah yes... I had to look it up, myself.
Seems like the .308 carbine model was more prevalent.
Still, they're great shooters.
I did see a link where, depending on year, you might need to make sure it's had a mfc. recall service done. Something with the firing pin, I believe?
