I am actually thinking of doing this tonight, odd you posted up a thread about this. I am wanting to turn an old PC that was a XP generation PC into my media server for my TV. I got a copy of Vista Ultimate I may put on it. I think it is an old 64 bit 939 AMD chip. I will let you know how it goes.
I run everything from XP to Ubuntu

Work - Windows XP Professional.
Home - Windows laptop - Windows XP Home. Home - Macbook - MacOS X. I also have a windows desktop with Vista... but I'm not a big fan of Vista.
