Default Roll on bed liner

I have wanted a bed liner for a while, but the spray on kind is fairly expensive, and the local auto parts store has a roll on kind that advertise itself as good as the spray stuff. Just wondering if anyone has had an experience with the stuff? Im assuming it isnt as strong because of the price difference.

At 40 a can that can do a regular bed how good can it be compared to the 400 spray stuff?

I've only known people that used Herculiner. It is ok, good for about 4-5 years if you abuse it. If you never really use your box, it will probably last forever.

4-5 years i would be happy with, I have a plastic one now, and shit gets under it and along the sides of the bed rails get all beat up and scratched.ok I might just buy a can of herculiner and some industrial gloves, pee before I work and have at it

I did mine with Herculiner. I have heard some of the off brands go milky in color.
Mine has been in for a year now. truck sits outside in all weather and gets used to haul whatever I throw in it.
Liner still looks new. It took a weekend to do but that was because I just casually did taking my time. scuffing the paint sucks. when you think you're done, rest for a bit then go look again. there's more.
overall I would def do it again.
Definitely tape off what you don't want covered, it doesn't come off easily.
one gal can did my 6 1/2 foot bed with a little left over. including tailgate.

I dont get why people like herculiner. It feels like 50 grit non-gripping sand paper.

because shit doesn't slide in my bed, it covered up the patches I put in the bed very well, it handles all the loads I throw in there.
My truck isn't a beauty queen. and I'm too old to be crawling back there with the ladies anymore so now days I don't get sandpaper grit burns on my knees or her ass so it doesn't matter what it feels like.
