Default My new baby is getting The Treatment

This is Gemma and she's getting dyno break-in, Tyga exhaust, Del Orto carbs & jet kit, Rotax-Adige intake, V-Force reed cage, carbon fiber bits, DID gold chain and final dyno tuning. The full shebang is being done by the premiere Aprilia joint in the USA: AF1 Racing in New Braunfels, Texas. Maestro Micah's blog on the work

...an RS125 purchased from us by fnfalamn on the forum is up for baseline tuning....and then a LOT more to come.

Today fnfalman's RS125 got a LOT more complicated. The final dyno break in was done, the spark plug was then indexed and replaced with an iridium equivalent.

Then on the dyno the pipe was change to our new Tyga Racing pipe, while a bit tough to fit it returned the most excellent of results in light of the fact that we started this test with the "challenge cup" pipe already attached to the bike. The Tyga saves at a minimum 5-7 lbs, a LOT when you consider the total weight of the bike is less than 290 lbs....and any power gains, especially a 2-3 bhp gain where it needs it the most is magnificent.

I had to hacksaw off 6mm of the pipe hanger and re-tap the threads to make the clearance between the stinger/silencer to the swingarm what I wanted, yes, it would have worked "out of the box" but I prefer to "build my bikes to suit"...so 6mm of the hanger had to dissapear, the results are capable of standing on their own!

attention, once off the dyno was turned to the intake side, the stock 28mm carb is a joke, a poor one, in my mind. The oval bore 34mm Dell"Orto was perfect, thanks to Steve and his vigilance for finding and getting this for me and Hung Dang.

The rest of the intake mods and the tuning will be all me. I have EGA targets that we KNOW are safe to hit now from the last couple of days, we will hit them with the new induction system and then lean a bit from there for max power.

HT, your bike now has close to 100 dyno mile on it...love it or hate it, I am making you my test "rat"...hope you love it. Expect very good things. The best bhp at the tire I have seen this far is 28.3 uncorrected for atmosphere, about 27 bhp after correction.

Do you know average LA temps and humidity?

As of tonight the new 34mm carb, up from 28mm, was installed partially, the reed stuffer from the Rotax race Kart manifold was perfectly matched and sealed, the transition from the rear of the carb to the carb body was perfectly matched via one of my very last surgical scapels....the reed stuffer was matched tomy perfection to the Moto Tasanarri V-Force 3 KTM reed cage...this my homie is going to be one seriously kick ass 125cc bike. From the current 28mm carb and reeds, with the pipe, to now with an oval bore 34mm unit, the 8 active reeds, shallow reed angle, bad ass pipe....etc, if I get less than 32-33 bhp I will be sad...and to put that in perspective a mid 1990's Honda GP 125 customer bike was about 34-36 bhp on our dyno.....

Track and street. They're going to make it street legal for me too. Or should I say, plate-able in Tejas.
