Did someone change my name to GMAC....
...or Neebelung's Finance Co?
No? Cool, I didn't think so. So then why the fuck are people emailing me asking if I can finance my bike for them, if they can make payments on it??? People, it's a fucking $1500 bike, a $1500 bike I'm realistically going to get $1200 for... and you want me to take PAYMENTS???? Are you fucking INSANE????? Yeah, I know you're a college student, yes, I know you're working two jobs, but are you really fucking kidding me? Please!! (and this isn't just once, but now three times I've been asked this, in less than 24 hours)... /end rant |

Oh, expect it to get worse before you sell it. Happens all the time.

The funniest thing I ever heard was when I was selling my Tacoma years ago. I got a call from a woman who was representing "Johnny" or someone. "Johnny is looking for a vehicle." "Johnny would like to know what's the lowest you will take." "Johnny would like to make payments to you." Etc. I finally got to the point where I was so annoyed I said "Tell Johnny to get a clue." and then hung up. WTF is with some people. |

I mean I've gotten a bunch of GENUINE inquiries about it, which makes it worthwhile, but some of these people just crack me up!!!
And then on the flipside, it makes some people who are SELLING their bikes really testy -- trying to negotiate/get a feeler for bottom line pricing on bikes for sale, and people are real tense at first... then once you've exchanged a few emails, asked questions, they loosen up, and come down on the price. I had one guy come out and tell me "I'm sorry, I've been low balled so many times, people emailing me asking me if I'd take $3K (half what he's asking), it's a slap in the face! I just like to make sure people are serious and not just wasting my time." Quote:

Pretty much...
My favorite is the "What is the lowest possible amount you will take" emails. Especially when they have not even LOOKED at the thing! |
