Default While we're on the topic of watches..

I'm in the market for a new automatic watch winder/storage box in a nice dark wood or leather. Seeing as we have a few watch experts on here I thought I'd toss this out there to see what comes up.

Any recommendations/reviews?

Nah that doesn't matter. As long as it's < $200 and it's built well I'm happy.

I don't use watch winders. Unless you have a watch that you aren't going to wear for months on end, you probably don't need one.

A watch winder is simulating the watch being worn. This is like leaving your car idling in the driveway for months at a time.

If you have a smal enough collection that you wear each of them once or twice a month, you don't need a winder. Your wear should be sufficient to keep the watch lubricated. This should also prolong your service cycles.

I agree with FT. The winder will keep the watch running and will cause premature wear and tear.

Good points. Maybe I will buy a normal non-winding case..
