Default What do YOU think is the better buy.

Lets assume both cost about the same.

2005 C55 AMG (15K miles) or 2007 BMW 335 Sedan (6 Speed) (35K miles)?

Agreed.

AMG vs. M3 would be a tougher decision.

Like to like, I still prefer the Benz.

The BMW, because:
1) it's still under warranty
2) it's a stick shift
3) bmw's usually steer & handle better than mercedes
4) the 335 twin-turbo has nearly all the performance of the M3 anyway

For sure. That's what I'm leaning towards. The C55 is much more rare and it does come with a monster V8, but something about just doesn't seem right. It went to the dealer for an electrical problem with 5K on the odometer and it's had 3 owners since. Checks out in Carfax but there's still gaps in the history.

On top of that, I've always thought bmw's were some of the best "driving" cars. Had a 97 328i back in the days and had my brothers e46 m3 for a few months, real fun to drive.

PS. BobTheBiker...You're missing out!
