Selling vehicles/items question
In a perfect world we could all buy a used bike or car, run it for a year or so, then sell it and make a profit or at least break even. My question is when you sell a bike, car, trailer whatever, do you have a certain percentage as a goal for the sale?
For instance if you bought a motorcycle trailer for $1000 then after a year decided it was no longer needed how much would you ask for it? and What is the absolute bottom dollar you'd take? |

It depends on the style, condition, and general market for the trailer. You can't try to sell it for 1200 because you want to if they are selling for 800 all day long elsewhere. You make the money when you buy something, not when you sell it.

Depends on how bad I want the item gone.

My asking price is usually taken from what it's current value is. That can usually be found from either KBB.com or looking around on other similar sites.
Other factors can come into play - what is your current need? Do you NEED to sell it faster or can you wait for the "right" buyer? Is your item maybe more rare than kbb and others let on? I rarely sell something just based on what I have into it or my own budget.

Its a trailer. If the paint is the same and the wheels turn then sell it for how much u paid for it.

depends on many things. damage done. upgrades made. length of time you've had it. current market.
i bought a trailer new for $775, 5 years later had a guy offer me $700 to sell it. I'm going to miss that trailer. if you buy it really cheap soemtimes you can even make a little. |
