Question How is this possible?

"The Nielsen Co. reported that just last year, the average American watched four hours and 49 minutes of television each day."

Who the hell has that kind of time? So you come home after work, and just sit there for almost 5 hours? What about shopping, working out, cooking, cleaning, surfing the internet, reading, having sex, etc.........

The only explanation I can think of is, most of these people must be leaving their TV on while they're doing other things? I certainly fucking hope so.

The level of obesity in America would seem to corroborate Nielson's numbers.

Pass the chips.

It's a tough call. My tv is usually on, I rarely watch it. It's more of a white noise thing with me. At the very most, I watch about 1 hour a day on average.

Do the people they give those stupid monitoring boxes to do the same thing??

I'm the same way, the only time a TV is off in my house is when I'm not home. Even when I sleep, I need the noise or I keep waking up.

What is your electricity bill? I hope your tv's not a plasma.

Me too especially at night. I need some kind of steady racket in the background to fall asleep.

I might watch half of that...in a week. That is including the TV's use as background noise (i.e. the news while I get ready for work).
