Long days
guess I should be careful what I ask for We got the double shifts at one of th ejobsites we cover so naturally more hours equals more money. But these are some long ass days esp since its not that busy up here.
At first it was supposed to be for a month or 2, which I figured was good, work my ass off over the winter since I am not doing anything anyway and sock away some money for track season. Now they may be doing these shifts for the rest of the year. I guess it will be good because I can now work fewer shifts and make the same amt of cash, just kinda sucks doing th elong days though. Then again if this is all I have to complain about things cant be that bad |

You have a job, thats a bonus for alot of people right now!
I hear ya tho, today is my long day, but we dont ever know how long it will last, as it depends on how many folks show up for court. I do get double time for hours worked however and that makes it less hard. |

Good point, its just straigh ttime here but the work is ridiculously easy, unless a crane collapses or soemthing bad like that.
The construction industry is rather unpredictable though its all based on the needs of the job so we have ot be at their beck and call for when were needed here. Also can be tricky with the weather. yesterday a huge rain/windstorm hit so the shut stuff down early, so I was glad I didn twork yesterday. vacations may be a little tricky with these double shifts though since getting coverage can be difficult, plus I am prety much the number 2 guy so a lot of responsibility is thrown on me ot make sure stuff is done. Aside from the rally I dont have any major vacations planned, just track days and a few long weekend bike trips so it shouldnt be too bad. |

While today may not be long in hours for me, it feels like it's lasting a lifetime.
Everything is pissing me off and things or people I'd normally have patience for are driving me to the edge....online....irl....friends...etc. I want to rip someone's head off! |
