newer better battery
any suggestions?
or just stay stock? i have hi/lo hid's, led taillight n signals, thinkin about some leds for upcoming tron action lol mine isnt dead, but it appears to be the same battery that came with the bike, so its ten years old. checkin my options 2000 gsxr 750

There are some new tech light weight batteries out there but they don't come cheap. If your stock battery lasted 10 years I would stick with that. Also search by the battery model number to get a better deal. The Yuasa for my bike was like $160 retail and still over $100 at dealer cost. The same model but from another manufacturer was about $50 shipped.

If the bike is going to be rigged up to use a lot of juice, then you might consider an Odyssey battery.

i will add tho, it lasted ten years with stock electronics. i only recently added the hid's n stuff.

10 years is a nice long life for a moto battery. I'd just stick with stock if you are getting that kind of life.

If you want to save weight, you can go lithium. But they have issues, particularly with cold starts. Are the Odyssey batteries much heavier than regular lead batts? I would imagine so.
