Bridgestone BT003 or Michilen Power One?
I'm considering trying the Power Ones from riding BT002/BT003 for 5 years now. Anyone have experience with the Power One?

I hear their better for the tracks around here in TX over the DOT 003.
I run the 003RS which are really just soft street tires. Looking to try the Power Pures next go round. |

Why do they last longer?

Since I'm not really at all involved in the racing scene, I can't be more specific. Mostly just hearsay from a shop who races and receives lots of take-offs from various racers. It seems that their the more popular tire. But then I do know there are people who do run the 003DOT and even Pirelli DOT corsa's.
Probably just personal choice on what they feel most comfortable on. |

Mostly has to do with carcass and compound: the Bridgstones are an OK street/track tire for the casual trackday person; they heat up quick and give decent grip (good for the street); but if you are into serious track times then you are going to be sliding around a lot.
The Michelin Pures are a softer compounded tire, but slower to heat up (they need more flexing to get hot), but they stay stickier, longer. If you get to a serious pace, you will see some tearing, but that is normal. Tires are good for a sprint race or two, depending on abrasiveness of the track and pace of the rider, but I've seen the right side of Pures destroyed in one heat at Thunderbolt by aggressive riders.
