New project
I have a shit ton of HP parts housed safely in a rusting hulk of a 71 Chevelle.
It would probably benefit from a rotisserie resto, but that's more than I care to tackle anymore....so... Meet my new project car...er, truck: http://poopnugget.com/files/1972 El ...mino ori...pdf It will receive all of the fine running gear (Built 350, M20 wide box, and Brute Posi 12 bolt w/ladder bars) from the Chevelle. While I'm excited, the fear of knowing that I just added another rust bucket to the "collection" is daunting. I should have a nice welding arc tan come spring...

It may be the upper white trash in me, but I like El Caminos.
Good pick

Wow, what kind of bad shape is the Chevelle in when that El Camino is the easier option? Not a bad deal for the price but it looks like a hell of a lot of work. It sounds like it will be a pretty sweet ride once you are done though. Good luck.

Well, it is rusty. Rustier than I thought. I'm kinda bummed. I sorta have buyer's remorse.
It's certainly worth what I paid (the fucking thing even starts and drives!)...as you almost can't find these fucking cars anymore at all, period...and the parts are all still widely available to restore them...in fact, there's even a few yards that support El Caminos only with parts. The real reason for getting this over my Chevelle was the hopes that I could restore it without popping the body off the frame, and onto a rotisserie. I wasn't really up for that much work, and it appeared at first blush that the Camino might be the easier option, and would be a candidate for frame-on resto. Now, I'm not so sure. Turns out, there's a lot of rust where I hadn't spotted it. So, I might still be looking for a better shell to use...I'm not convinced I have one, don't really wanna work that hard (frame off)...sigh. I've had an A body Chevelle since I was 18. I really miss having one of these on the road. Really want a nice shell to put all my shit in, but I don't know if one in the shape I want, can even be had for an approachable amount of money. Someone was selling a rotisserie on Craigslist...wonder if it's still there. !#$!%^*&(&*%#@!%$@!

There are a few A bodies around here...ok shape. If ya want me to look, I will, I have nothing to do for the forseeable future. What happened to the Mustang?
