When she was pretty young, she took off and was gone for two weeks. The 'rents sat my sister down (I was like 2), had the 'she ran away and is probably in a great home...' blah blah blah... a day or so later, a neighbor came over and said her friend found a dog a couple of weeks back and gave my dad the number. Called, went over, sure enough - our dog, about a mile away from home. Guy offered my dad something ridiculous like $1,000 or something because she was so good and his kids had fallen in love with her. Somewhere around the same time, friends of my folks stayed with us for a few weeks, visiting from down south. They left to go back home while my parents were at work. The guy (Earl) forgot something, called my dad, and he said, "just go through the garage, the back door is unlocked." Earl made it into the garage, but Tasha cornered him near the door going into the house.. His wife had to go to my grandparents house (they lived next door) to call my dad to come home and save Earl. All in all, he was pinned in the corner for over an hour... no attack, but every time he reached for the door, Tasha would snarl and show teeth. The second my dad came into the garage, her nub started wiggling, and she immediately approached Earl to play - they had played constantly during their visit. In her later years she lived with my grandma and my grandma noticed how protective she was of me... She pulled me over to the side and we acted like she was slapping my arm - fake crying, etc. She came up, layed her head across my arm to protect me. No growling or anything, just guarding me from impact... pretty cool. |

Inbreeding... We put ours down at 11 yrs... arthritis, benign tumors, just suffering... She probably could have lived another year or two if we would have let her...

All that and no damn pics?!?! You suck dude.
I've got a dobie/lab and maybe bulldog mix, she's great, all energy all the time, very friendly and not much of a barker. The dobies I've seen raised lovingly are great pets, they just look scary, which for some is the point. |
