Space Needle
Flying out to Seattle soon, and pumped to see it. Anyone else been? I hear there's a restaurant at the top- which looks ridiculously expensive.

Haven't been but if it is like the revolving restaurant on top of the Westin in Atlanta then expect bleh food for holy shit prices. The view is what makes it for any revolving restaurant. I was in a space needle like building in Abu Dhabi that revolved. That was the absolute shit and the food was cheap as hell. I spent 80 aed for a full meal, drink, and an appetizer which is about $25. And speaking of Space Needles, I want to do that jump/ride in New Zealand. That looks fun as hell!

I"ve been there several times and that is where I proposed to my wife. The food portions are small, everything is ala carte and it is expensive but very good. You cant beat the view though and the dining room spins while you are eating. I cant remember how long it takes to make 1 revolutuion but it's slow, like once and hour.
If you don't eat there it costs something like $12 to ride the elevator to the viewing deck, otherwise if you are eating it's free. Don't forget to by the "Weedle on the Needle" book from the gift shop. |

Pussies. I planked it...
I was wondering how they got away from the building then saw the wing suits. 2 weeks before I got there, some guy who worked on the building jumped off and died. Except he only fell I think 10 stories or so.

You're right.
Though I thought with the really tall buildings like the Burj, you had trouble getting away from it due to the design of the buildings. Which is why that one guy didn't fall but a few stories before hitting the building again. I wonder what tower they are talking about in Saudi Arabia.

It's a nice elevator ride, but the food is way overpriced for what it is.
Have a beer or two at the top, then head downtown for dinner. I don't know what's in vogue in Seattle these days, but there are tons of restaurants around the Pioneer Square/ waterfront area, that are better than Sky City. JC

The restaurant at the top is good for a drink or two, but you will find MUCH better food downtown. |

If you want good food, the Metropolitan Grill is top notch.
