I saw no top shots of the thing but I read they changed the harddrive layout? Are they finally admitting sony had a superior design in that aspect?

Different hd, and its a 250gb in all new models.

Right, but is it a laptop style internal or another bullshit proprietary design?

Edit, okay went and did some searching and the only part that's proprietary is the enclosure, they use the same sata 2.5 as the ps3 or any laptop. Where they are different though is their draconian ban policys towards upgrades. I still can't understand how anyone can deal with those people, might as well sign every check in your book and bend over with your pants around your ankles and spread your cheeks.

You can do whatever you want to your console. You just can't play it on xbox live afterwards. Seems pretty fair to me..
