Default Another Canadian in AMA? - Silly Season Rumours

The way that things are going up here, it's looking like Brett McCormick might be headed down to the AMA next season. This kid (17? 18?) would have been the Canadian superbike champ this season, if not for a couple of jumped starts and blowing over on the dyno once.

The current rumour has him running in AMA with the Blackfoot Suzuki team fronting. Pascale Picotte has been running their efforts for the last couple of years. This was the Canadian team that put Duhamel back on a bike for Daytona this season.

Let's just say that right now his father isn't denying it. Our loss could be your gain. I've been saying that this kid needed to move to WSBK or AMA, or his career would stall here. If he ends up there and gets the support that he needs, you're going to get a good show.

I have never seen a bike leaned over as far as he gets it before. He make Szoke look slow.

When I walked back into the pits at Calabogie after taking that first shot, he was showing the scuffed ELBOWS of his leathers to his crew.

They didn't make 'em like that when I was 17.

They likely did; you just never heard about them

Unfortunately even the national series here is treated like club racing, with few fans that follow it.

Ya I know. Kind of sucks that it's not supported here. With Shannonville a good 3 hours from me it's hard to get there to watch. I'd head to Cayuga every weekend if I could though.

I make it out to virtually every Shannonville round along with any Parts Canada Superbike rounds that are held in Ontario, but then again I generally get press access. That's a bit of a different story from people who have to travel a couple of hours and then pay $25-$30 at the gate, on top of it.

I just do Calabogie. It was awesome to watch McCormick come over the hill into 16 with Szoke right behind him.

Calabogie hasn't been confirmed yet for this coming season and I have reason to believe that it won't be. I hope that I'm wrong, because those guys brought their game up big time last season, when compared to the first time the nationals were there.

You'll just have to join the rest of us at Shannonville and Mosport.

After reading the AMA payouts they just released, seems he's going to have a LOT less competition. Superbike is a joke. Only 3 riders signed for next year. He might as well stay in Canada, probably gonna be better racing.
