Default Pics of the new Buell and a quick review

This all worked out really weird. I went in Wednesday and negotiated a great price on an 09 XB12XP, called the bank, and walked out planning on buying the bike. I had to wait till Friday to get the check, which I figured would give me a few days to solidify my decision. Needless to say the news on Thursday changed things a bit! I was able to renegotiate the price and had a rode my new Uly home on Friday.

Why did I get a new bike? I was ready for a change. I've been riding long enough to know what I enjoy about motorcycles and this bike fit the bill to the tee. Comfortable two up touring, must be able to handle in the twisties, and fun to ride. My wife and I did 100 miles on Sat and I was shocked how confidence inspiring this bike is. I was following a good friend on an 08 Tuono and had no troubles keeping up. At no point did I feel like the bike was unsettled. At the end of the day, the wife and I both had a great time, and no back pain!

So here are the pics. I have no intentions on selling the SV or the Aprilia. The SV is destined to be a track day bike. And the Ape, well, its still the bees knees.

Are they glaring back there?

As you all can see, I HATE Vtwins.

The wife and I after our maiden voyage. Forgot to add, it was in the low 40s when we left and the heated grips were quite nice.

Yea, I'm curious too. I've heard that the numbers put out by Buell are very optimistic.

Buells fuel numbers are very optimistic.

If I see 110 miles before the fuel light comes on, I'd be surprised.

You have a slightly larger tank, you should be good for 130 to 150.

I had the Uly with the race kit (exhaust, ECM, Filter). It didn't matter if you beat on it or rode it easy, I regularly got 50 MPG.

I have a HEAVY throttle hand and am 6' and weigh 250 with gear (not the best for aerodynamics).

A lighter rider with a smaller "cross section" could see 60-65MPG.

Best tank I ever got, I went 180 miles before the fuel light came on. Usually the light came on at 150 miles.

The only mods I will make are a few comfort mods and a pipe. I have the Buell comfort kit on order that redirects heat from the rear cylinder away from your legs. Also ordered a gel pad for the rear sissy bar ( I don't know what else to call it) for the wife.
