How much luggage space do you think you could have gotten away with?

you mean how much wasn't needed? alot... I camped in AR... and left that stuff at Rae's, but had my leather pants still bungie'd to the top... those wouldn't be make'n another long trip... just brought those cause I knew I'd be hitting the gap.

I'll get rid of all my toiletries... cept for a small tube of toothpaste and tooth brush... the rest I can buy travel size when needed, then throw away after. I had like 5 or six pair of underware and socks... probably 3 pair of each is good... most hotels have washing machines...

probably still take my laptop... so I can empty my camera of pictures, and stay connected. I had extra shirts for people in Indy, had a gift for Kat's boss... a gift for a friend in Ohio... way too much shit.

when I left Ohio after Indy... I shipped a bunch of shit... I was able to collapse the bags back down to the normal size... it was nice.

Yea,when I lived in El Paso,me and a buddy made a couple bike trips to L.A. and one to coastal Mexico. We always shipped clothes to where we were going. I couldn't imagine packing all that shit with me! Oh and it always kills me when people pack tons of toiletries (shampoo,TOILET PAPER,soap,LAUNDRY DETERGENT!,etc) to go on trips...I'm like,um,they do have stores where we are going, you know?

Yea,I envy you! I'm not sure I could make a trip like that now! My shit would be SCREAMING FOR MERCY!!!!

Oh btw, last I knew, you could ship bags with Greyhound for cheap and just pick them up at the bus terminal thus avoiding sending your belongs to someone's house you don't know very well.

I usually pack a duffel, but I don't need much clothes anyway. Couple pair of jeans, underwear and t-shirts for a week, and socks. What I do pack a lot of is thermals and crap. I'll never be caught without cold weather stuff again, even if it's the bare minimum.

well I was really surprised I wasn't in more pain... really I wasn't in any... the only day that was really hard was the one from AR to Rae's in FL... 904 miles in 14 hrs... 5 hrs of which was riding in Ike and a torrential downpour.

I slept forever the next day!

I seriously could have gone for weeks on end riding
