Honestly... the photos that I've done as TRUE HDR and the faux HDR ones there really isn't a dif. if I took a well balanced photo and did a Faux HDR it looked the same as a True HDR.

I actually took one photo where I'd taken multiple exposures to make a TRUE HDR and created a Faux HDR from the 0 shot. and compared it to a TRUE HDR and they looked almost identical...

I'll see if I still have it when I get home and up load them for your opinion
Yeah, from what I've seen, there isn't too much difference between "faux" HDR and "true" HDR. You can get some amazing effects with both, so no matter how you do it, I think they're both extremely useful artistic tools.

I think so too.. although given that the original shot was taken with an old 3.2mp point and shoot camera, at the most it would just eliminate some of the grainy artifacts from the photo.

Speaking of P&S cameras, I need to invest in a new one for my next deployment. Hopefully I'll have the opportunity to take some more cool shots.

My old Nikon L1 P&S kicks ass... I've taken some cool shots with it... it's what went with me to Iraq and Kuwait. I think I posted up a couple pics from Iraq in the random pic thread

All of my photos from Iraq were on a Panasonic Lumix. They're not bad, for what it was.

True HDR would expose the sky properly in this one. This is a great picture btw.

And my wide-eye at work has somewhat of a fisheye effect. I sorta like it...but it really shouldn't look the way it does.
