He probably can't get the exact dog he wants through adoption. I really wanted an Australian Shepherd/Border Collie but I also wanted to adopt. After weeks of searching, I "settled" on Tony because of my desire to adopt. Money wasn't as great a factor here as they hit you for over $200 to adopt so I could find the dog I wanted for about that.

Tuesday, Wayne had his vet appt... he got all checked up and passed his fecal check, and a full tick panel (remember he came from Florida). Then he got his lymn disease shot and his kennel cough shot. We also got him micro chipped.

He was very interested in the noises on the other side of the door. Love those ears!

Then some outside pics of him playing with Brinks.

tigger is partially correct. i want a bull terrier, and if its going to co-exist with my cat im going to have to get it as a puppy and socialise the heck out of it. plus after watching my sister's experience with adoption...my trust level for prior owners is nil.

The good news...

Wayne and Brinks have been getting along great! They aren't true blue best buds yet but coming real close.

The bad news:
Well we have been battling a limp on Wayne's front right leg. It didn't show up till after the metacam (doggy pain killers) was finished from when he fell at the foster home and injured (sprained or somin) his left leg. Well we did some xrays, nothing. Did some chiropractic adjustments, cold laser theropy, phycox supplement pills... everything. It just kept getting worse. Wife was noticing his right ankle was getting bigger and noticably a knot on it. So I took him back in... got another $250 of xrays. He has a bone mass on his ankle. He is going in for a $550 bone biopsy surgery Friday to find out what it is.

The possible good prognosis would be a bacterial or fungal infection which would be treatable with a extreme treatment of pills.

The bad way would be a cancerous tumor or bone cancer (can't remember the real full name). If that is the case the only chance would be to do chemo and have his leg amputated. Even then being the cancer is a extremely fast moving cancer its no cure. We won't put him thru that so he would then have to be put down.

This sucks!! We have had him for 2 months Thursday and have spent nearly $2k on him with the biopsy friday. Never really got to just enjoy him. he just started to learn how things are and what is his name is.

So let's hope its just a bacteria or fungus... so we can all enjoy this great dog.

We've been having some trouble with our lab as well. It sucks to hear this. I hope it's nothing serious.

Wow... damn well here's hope'n it's benign.

my old dog Baxter had TONS of benign tumors sprout up all the time... it was weird... we had him for 8 years... and he probably had 15 different tumors we had biopsied all benign. then he got one that wasn't.... passed away while I was in Cali...

Hope'n things come out on the positive for you and Wayne
