All it would have taken was a phone call, to the local authorities and they could have addressed it, either by humanely euthanizing it, or removing it to a shelter to be released back into the wild.
I am of the party that thinks she should have gone running for the camera. I know I would have. But Im a tree hugger. Incidentally, last time I saw a 6 foot rattler, I went running for my camera. Last time I saw a pygmy rattler and a bobcat I was pissed I didnt have my camera. Regardless of the creature, nothing deserves to suffer if someone feels the need to kill it. That was torture and needless. Its not like it was going to attack her. This is the same to me as killing ants with a magnifying glass. Next time someone in the "kill it with fire" camp is readying to kill another creature, try taking a moment to ask yourself "what has this thing done to me or mine that it deserves to suffer and die"? |
