Default It Pays To Shop Around Now And Then

We've had Comcast for TV, phone and Internet for the past year and a half or so. Never had any complaints, but I got tired of them constantly raising prices on me for the same service. So I looked at AT&T and DirecTV packages/bundles and by switching over to them, this will be the net result once all rebates are processed, etc.

$100 back for switching from Comcast Internet to AT&T DSL
$150 back for switching from Comcast phone to AT&T phone
$100 back for enrolling in automatic bill pay (credit card) from DirecTV
$20 / month credit from AT&T for first three months of DSL
$26 / month credit from DirecTV for first year
$10 / month credit from DirecTV for 10 months (for friend referral)

After 1 year, the full price we pay for everything will still be ~$15 / month less than what we pay Comcast now, and we'll get more HD channels for the money and the ability to order sports packages, etc. which aren't even available on Comcast.

I wish I had options. I'm stuck with DSL from Windstream. It's a decent service but I lose my connection a lot.

I can't wait until my contract is up with Dish. U-Verse is now available in my neighborhood. I should be able to cut my current AT&T bill in half. I'm paying $190/mo for DSL, phone and Dish bundled together.

We have Windstream phone and DSL and DirecTV and although I've been happy with DirecTV we wish AT&T was offered here so we could switch to U-Verse.

Unfortunately, our location didn't qualify for UVerse. : (

Even if AT&T provides service to your area, doesn't mean you qualify for the U-Verse VDSL (like us), unfortunately.

Crazy.

You would think the greater ATL area would be blanketed by Uverse.

I didn't know that but knew I couldn't get it since we don't have an AT&T phone.
