Wow those are big! That's pretty cool you got to release some of them.

Yea turtles can smell, had two painted turtles when I was younger, only lasted 2 months before mom made me take them back to the lake.

That is too cool, I read the article, said the Gulfarium there in FWB took in quite a few for rehab and return. Good job!

I haven't heard about this. It's cool they were able to bring them in like that.

Those turtles should have been left alone.

Do people not understand what evolution by NATURAL selection means?

Theyre pretty gentle with them. They place them in the water and let them swim away.

Cold weather might be natural but the pollution and human development that put them near the edge of extinction isnt. Weve killed off enough of them that on our own that we cant afford to let 1700 die if we can help it, even if it was a natural cause.

Exactly.

If you think the state of our Oceans has anything to do with natural selection, you're dead wrong.

We've been dumping our crap in the Seas since the beginning. We always thought that they were so vast, that they could absorb whatever we tossed in. We were wrong, and it's not just turtles that are at risk.

Without the Oceans, there is no Earth. End of story.

Human development isn't natural?

Tell that to the millions of cyanobacteria that created an oxygen rich environment killing of the primary inhabitants on earth.

Humans are natural. Like it or not.
