not too bad. wonder what the cost is for pure parts. its easy as heck to get the thing apart. back during our little y2k bug at the start of the month i tore mine down to get the dust out and reset the CMOS. couldn't be easier

Ya, the ps3 is suprisingly accessible.

Im not sure how you go about getting parts themselves though. Im not sure they just sell them.

I bought mine is 05 or so.. Trouble free for 4-5 years.
