I used to hate my birthday and never celebrated it.

But then I realized it was much easier to embrace it, and the fact that people want to celebrate it, than spend my time being pissy about hating it and making a big to do about not celebrating it.

You waste more energy in trying NOT to celebrate it than you ever would celebrating it.

So just enjoy it and thank people that offer you well wishes.

I'm not in to really celebrating them...as someone else said...I don't like being the center of attention either but I don't hate them. They just seem to come up faster the older I get. I usually do like to treat myself to something fun though...still a kid at heart and since the wife and I have no kids we like to spoil ourselves.
