Its the middle of summer, she's got no liquids and she's in a brick hotbox aren't good enough reasons? 2-3 days is very believeable

People don't normally die of thirst in only 2-3 days, AFAIK. I could see a heart attack maybe.

People aren't normally stuck in chimneys, either.
I recall several (usually involving thieves), and they were all dead within about 72hrs.

High blood pressure(fear from being stuck) and dehydration will also cause the body to expand. Suffocation probably happened quickly.
