Default Dumbo hates your Ducati

"elephants rarely attack people but are known to dislike things made of metal and have destroyed several motorcycles"

(and you can bet those motherfuckers will never forget how ugly that fucking 999 was, either)

People always say the 999 was ugly. Granted, it wasn't beautiful, but it was OK. Especially if you compare it to the average Japanese bike.

Also, the 1098 is dime-a-dozen. The 999 is much rarer, and therefore more interesting when you come across one.

The 999's looks definitely wasn't wowing in nature, but it looked distinctive. I can't tell if that's an R1 coming at me or that's a 1098/1198.

Following the 916 and its children (esp in a traditional company like ducati) with something radical wasn't the best plan
