i loath "ambulance" chasing lawyers and what they stand for but heres an instance where i hope he sues the shit out of the city. how the fuck does not only one cop but many not know the laws in their own city/state, i live in nj and knew the law. also police officers are public servants and talk to someone like that? dont get me wrong with all the police shootings i see how they could be tense, but there was a better way to handle it. like detain the guy get his ccw permit, id, and check on the law. nah we will play billy bad ass and treat the guy like a criminal until proven innocent.

The cops, and apparently the DA in this case, are nothing but a bunch of thugs and bullies.

It's not legal to shoot them, so a civil suit is, unfortunately, the only real recourse here. Is it possible to demand the firing with no possibility of re-hire of the individuals involved in this case as a part of the lawsuit? Those police officers clearly have no business with a badge.

Mikey, if only their demeanor, attitude, and behavior were unique.

My experience is that far too many with a badge speak and act this way towards the people they are supposed to serve.

Sadly, as apparently the psychological screenings that probably should be in place aren't, my personal experience has been that there is actually a disproportionate number of cops that are in it simply for the power trip.

Power corrupts.

Fecking hell....you only THOUGHT the story couldn't get worse.

People obeying the law can "expect to be inconvenienced?!"

Seriously?!

I guess we can strike the Fourth Amendment right out of the Constitution since it no longer seems to apply.

GRRRRRRRR

1) I would expect to get inconvenienced... They have to check, they cannot just turn a blind eye... However, laying down on the fucking ground?

2) That guy open carries, and carries around a recorder... just in case? That sounds a bit like he is looking for his 15 minutes... I mean, if the story was that this happened to him before and he decided to carry the recorder then...

It's starting to sound like this guy open carries with the intent to cause a disruption...

I kind of agree with #2 but is HAS happened before. Twice, in fact.

From Gregman's article:
Quote:
The February incident wasn't the first time Philadelphia police officers have confronted Fiorino about his unconcealed gun. Since July, he has been stopped twice and he has had an audio recorder on him each time in case a cop is having a bad day or doesn't understand the law, he said.

His handgun was confiscated once for five months, but neither occasion escalated like the third encounter.

You know though really at a certain point you just accept that you live in a police state and fully expect things like this to happen on a daily basis. Soon these stories won't even make the wires anymore so you'll never hear about it.
