This thread reminds me of a thread on another board where someone defined a fun sporty car as a car with a nice radio and a spoiler.

He might be having fun, but could be having even MORE fun, if he got a clue. That's the point.

The vast majority of auto drivers haven't "gotten" that clue yet. Probably most have never even tried stick, so they don't know what they're missing. It's kind of like the people who refuse to work out because they think it's just work. Same with stick shift. People think it's too much work without thinking about the benefits they might get from it.

No.........Talking about being able to feel the road thru the steering. Not thru the seat or floorboard, lol.

What if he did get a "clue" and tried a sportbike? What if he found out it hurt his back, he didn't enjoy the speed, and packing up his camping gear for a weekend trip was a pain in the ass? Basically it was LESS fun.

Fun is fun, just because you haven't tried something, doesn't lessen the fun you have with your chosen hobby.

My dad owns a Vette currently. He grew up in the era of true Muscle cars and drove them when they were new. His dad owned a service shop, he got to drive everything working there as a mechanic. He had his fun with manual cars. His vette is an automatic. OMG! He uses it to cruise the mountains that surround our area of the country with his wife and enjoy the scenery. He could own a non sportscar that is just as luxurious, but that's the car he wanted.

Ignorance does not lessen fun, however knowledge can and does for a lot of people.

Stupid people have a lot of fun. There is a reason that people with better education live more stressful lives.

I have never said knowledge is bad either, that is a misquote. I said knowledge can lessen fun.

It's true. It takes rather little to fascinate the feeble minded.

Who's to say THEY are (or would be) missing anything? I know it's tough to grasp, but y'all are presuming you know what's best, or the most fun, for everyone.
