Texas has used it's oil money to attract other businesses as well. Apple and a bunch of other tech companies have moved a lot of factories to the Austin area and set up a mini Silicon Valley.

yes Austin has a pretty diverse economy.....But the rest? Is, say, Houston or Dallas as diverse as Chicago?

a lot of those cars are just awful. I took the Shelby Z to the local c & c style meet, parked with the vipers (hey its a dodge!) they got mad and left easily the most extensively modified car in attendance and the least expensive. Also probably the only one that wasnt wallet tuned
