How about a terribly beaten up and stripped for racing Manx Norton, of indeterminate year?

Interesting guess. Similar frame and engine design, this bike was also around the same time period. Check out the difference in the suspension, the Manx Bikes, indeed almost all brit bikes at the time, had exposed springs on the shock and enclosed springs on the forks, this bike has the reverse.

Yeah, I was going on the frame and the tail, remembering some of the abortions I've seen practised on old Brit-bikes.
