That's how mine came to me. Wrecked (busted forks) then somebody bought it for $3k, then he or the next guy put couple thousand in upgrades on, and I bought it for $3500. Less than 3,000 miles on it too

If your ONLY requirement is cheap - EX500s can be had for a grand or less
If you want cheap & powerful - somethin like that GSXR750 would do.
If you want cheap AND competitive should you choose to start racing down the line - SV650s make for awesome budget race bikes.

Hell I should probably pick that up...it would probably cost me $2k the first time I wrecked my 675
