Handle every stressful situation like a DOG: If you can't eat it or hump it, pi$$ on it & walk away.

Maybe, just maybe, if they listened to the studies that they've called for at least 3 times that I know of, and set the speed limits at the 85 percentile, I don't think speeding would be much of an issue at all...for anyone.

Maybe you have an point that sucks less?

Perhaps cops should set the example then, by NOT speeding?

It's a congenital defect. For the past few months I've apparently been debating with a 'law and order' type author, on a local board, who thinks "police powers good, personal liberties bad."

People like to side with law enforcement, in hopes that they'll receive the benefits of being "down with the team"

It's kind of like being in high school, when you agreed with what the cool people were saying, so that their "cool halo" would cover you as well.

That's a human defect...one I consciously work to overcome (I don't have to work too hard, as an independent thinker, though).

Well this guy apparently wrote a biography of our Provincial police chief, who thinks that he's in charge of the 1929 Chicago Police Department.

'Round here being someone who thinks for himself gets you branded as a cop hater one day, then a cop suck-up the next.
