I'm way too much of a tight ass to do anything like this. The whole time I was reading it, I was thinking...

How does he make his house payment?
How does he pay for gas?
He is really losing his ass on the car.
How does he pay for motels?
How will he keep the repo men at bay?

Seriously, how did he pay for all that shit whilst unemployed?

He didn't. In the article he says he is a "few hundred grand" in debt.

New Gallardo, probably a 2006 since that is the year he bought it. He put $90,000 down on it and put 92,000 miles on it before the timing chain went and the engine ate itself. He says he still owes more on the car than it is worth and can't afford to fix or replace the engine.

I was thinking the same thing but would still love to do it. I have kids so I wouldn't take off like that but if I was single and didn't know what to do or where I might think about it.

As far as losing his ass. On Cars.com they have a 06 with 19531 miles on it. Its selling for $108000. If this guy paid $180000 as well then he will lose $72000 if he gets his asking price. The guy lost $3.69 a mile.

Lets say the guy in the story can only get $50000 now. He lost $1.42 for all the miles he drove.

And the guy might not want to sell it so then the value doesn't matter to much unless your trying to use it against a loan.

Also because of his car and looks he got "Rock Star " status at a strip club. (Try that in an NSX )

The only problem I seen with it was that he was running away from his problems which I wouldn't want to do. But he got away and enjoyed himself in a exotic car. Other then the car it worked for Kaneman.

If I was Lamborghini and heard of this story while he was on the road I would have done free work on his car. Even at this point I would offer to do the work on the car or part of it. He took an exotic car on the road for 4 years before having a major problem. And with 75 tickets he didn't baby it. That car held up well. I would love to see a full list of any money put into that car. Oil changes, tires and even fuses. Everything just to see the cost. I seen a story online before and a guy did recorded the cost of owning a used Ferrari and the car was expensive to drive because it had sat around so much.

Most girls won't know the diff. Try doing 300,000+ miles in a lambo I'm honestly surprised he didn't die in a fire from all the time he spent in that car

Despite the donations I received to help with my exodus I have only now recovered from my 2007 trip, in a financial sense. I sold most of the things I had that were worth anything, the rest of what I owned was stolen from the storage I put it in, so when I got back I had nothing. I had completely cashed out my 401k and all that good stuff as well.

The financial burden would not be a deterrent to doing something like this. It was well worth it.
