Ordered an onboard camera system
After doing a bunch of research I ordered an onboard camera system. Since I'll be doing at least 3 track days (one of which is like 1200 miles away) and 5 days around the gap, at this point it seems to make a lot of sense to get some footage.
I haven't considered the really nice units (like this: ) because they are way out of my price range. Before I was considering the cheaper units like the tony hawk POS cam, the oregon scientific yct2k came or whatever it's called (gets interference from bike's electronics according to several sources), and a few others. I decided they wouldn't be the best choice. I settled on this setup being offered by a great guy on the wera boards with a slight discount for being from that forum: Onboard bullet cam kit I like the fact that it's modular giving you tons of mounting options, the lens itself is tiny so there are tons of mounting options there too. Some people have hardwired to the bike battery with a switch instead of using AA batteries, also. I've seen some raw footage coming out of this setup and the quality is head and shoulders above the cheaper units. It will show up friday and I will be rigging it up over the weekend along with packing and prepping for TDs and my trip. I'll get tons of footage in the next two weeks, methinks
