I don't know that I'd want to do the long trips in a short time, but some day, after my daughter is grown and I have the time to take off, I'd like to do a slow tour of the 49 states and parts of Canada. I'd start in the north, maybe do a cross-Canadian tour during the summer, hit up Alaska, head down toward Washington, go back east across the northern states, then slowly criss-cross my way through the US, getting further and further south as the summer winds down. End the trip in Florida, buy a house and call it a good life. Or maybe I'd end on the other side of the US in Vegas. Either way, I'd stop and live someplace warm in the winter.
