Default I pick them up next week

Got the itch to build something to cruise around on. Started visiting the bobber forums and decided to try my hand at a metric bobber. I told my brother about it, and he said, "be on the lookout for me one." So I did. Now I've made a package deal on both bikes, and he is backing out (read: his wife pitched a fit)

So, I will have two bikes to customize. I hope to sell one to completely pay for the one I decide to keep.

Here they are now...

1979 GS1000

1980 KZ440

Probably start with the GS. The guy who has them is a long time bike builder. He seems to think that mechanically the only thing the GS needs is a starter. So I found one on ebay, and it's here. (Yes, I have a starter to a bike that I don't even own yet)

Plans
1. Get it running
2. Chop and hardtail
3. Build spring seat
4. Drag bars
5. Tractor Supply fender
6. Front and rear bullet turn signals
7. Side mounted license with old school brakelight
8. ARmy ammo box for a battery box.
9. Old flour cannister for electrical
10. Sportster tank (later)
11. Forward controls (later, as money permits)

Hope to get it on the road late summer early fall. Tear it down in the winter for paint, etc. I'm really stoked about this. I'm learning to weld, and I plan on building as much of the parts as I can.

Going for something like this. Different paint scheme, though.

Stay tuned for the build thread.
